Marine Conservation and Ecological Restoration
 Through Artistic Process and Practice

Picture

Picture
Chapman Point hike looking out onto Cannon Beach (left) and Crescent Beach (right).
In the sand lay scattered and clumped ghost nets and millions upon millions of uniquely sized pieces, shapes and colors of plastic marine debris, and I will inevitably try to collect them all. Now that I see them there, I can't not see them. I don't know what it would be like to visit the beach and not pick them up. I enjoy the collecting, it clears my mind and I become one with my surroundings. I feel more deeply a part of my process. I feel connected.
